Aramco Asia Korea has collaborated with various Seoul-based organizations to introduce a multi-use plastic food trays initiative at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in South Korea. The purpose of this initiative is to raise awareness among Seoul’s residents and sports enthusiasts about the importance of responsible and eco-friendly plastic usage.

The Multi-use Plastic Food Tray Program, supported by Aramco Korea, aims to provide approximately 100,000 reusable food and beverage trays to spectators at Jamsil Baseball Stadium. This collaborative effort includes partners such as the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the Seoul Metropolitan Council, the Seoul Association of Self-Proficiency Centers, the Doosan Bears, LG Sports, and Amoje.

The announcement of this initiative was made at a ceremony held at City Hall on April 12, attended by key figures including Khalid Radi, Acting Representative Director of Aramco Asia Korea; Se-hoon Oh, Mayor of Seoul; Yang-soon Bong, Head of Environment and Water Resources Committee and a member of Seoul Metropolitan Council; Young-seop Ko, President of the Doosan Bears; In-seok Kim, CEO of LG Sports; Hye-yeon Yoon, Chairman of the Seoul Association of Self-Sufficiency Promotion Centers; and Hee-ho Shin, President of Amoje.

By replacing single-use food containers with reusable trays, this citizenship program aims to reduce plastic waste and increase waste separation rates within the stadium. The trays will be washed and sterilized at designated facilities for safe reuse at future events, emphasizing responsible disposal and recycling.

In his remarks at the initiative ceremony, Khalid Radi emphasized the significance of the initiative in promoting environmental consciousness and inviting fans to make a conscious choice for the environment. Seoul Mayor Se-hoon Oh highlighted the city’s commitment to sustainability and environmental protection through the usage of reusable plastic food trays at Jamsil Baseball Stadium.

Aramco, known for fostering positive change through collaborations with Korean entities, has previously initiated projects aimed at sustainability and community welfare. This latest collaboration between Aramco Korea and Seoul marks a significant step forward in promoting sustainable practices within the community and making a meaningful impact.
