Müller has issued a product recall on six Cadbury desserts due to a possible Listeria contamination and has put up notices in UK stores where the affected products were sold. The company is advising people not to consume the items and to return them to the store.

Listeria bacteria is commonly found in chilled food and can cause listeriosis in rare cases. However, the NHS has stated that the infection is typically not severe for most people. The Foods Standards Agency (FSA) has issued an alert relating to six Cadbury desserts manufactured by Müller.

The six recalled Cadbury desserts are as follows: Cadbury Daim Chocolate Dessert, Cadbury Crunchie Chocolate Dessert, Cadbury Flake Chocolate Dessert, Cadbury Dairy Milk Buttons Chocolate Dessert, Cadbury Dairy Milk Chunks Chocolate Dessert, and Cadbury Heroes Chocolate Dessert. The use-by dates of concern range from 17 May to 18 May.

Müller, which is owned by Mondelez International, has confirmed that the impacted products can be returned for a full refund. The yoghurt manufacturer has stressed that no other batches of Müller or Cadbury products have been impacted.

While symptoms affecting most people typically include mild symptoms for a few days or no symptoms at all, some consumers may exhibit symptoms such as a high fever, aches and pains, chills, vomiting, and diarrhea, according to the NHS. Individuals at a higher risk of severe infection include those who are pregnant, over the age of 65, newborn babies, and people with weakened immune systems.

Müller has assured its customers that the incident is an isolated one and that an investigation is being carried out. The company produces these products under license from Mondelez International and has emphasized that the recall has not impacted any other products it manufactures in the UK or other markets.
