The recent appointment of Sarah Bull marks a significant step forward for 2 Sisters Food Group, as she takes charge of innovation and new product development (NPD) within the company’s meals division based in Birmingham. This initiative aims to enhance 2 Sisters’ capacity to provide “high-quality, consumer-focused” offerings for its retail partners.
Previously serving as the head of development at Bakkavor, a company renowned for its fresh prepared foods, Bull comes equipped with nearly three decades of expertise in innovation. Her background positions her well to drive progress within the organization.
2 Sisters highlighted that Bull has “a proven track record of driving consumer-led growth in categories such as ready meals and chilled foods,” alongside experience collaborating with significant UK retailers to “bring appealing new products to market.”
In response to her new role, Bull expressed her enthusiasm: “I’m thrilled to have joined 2 Sisters Food Group as development director. It’s an exciting time to be in the industry, with so many forward-thinking retailers championing innovation and embracing new ideas that delight consumers. I’m looking forward to collaborating with the talented teams within 2SFG and our retail partners to develop standout products that meet evolving tastes and demands.”
Reflecting on her career journey, Bull noted a personal connection to 2 Sisters. “Having started my career with Marks & Spencer and worked closely with businesses that are now central parts of 2 Sisters, it is something of a ‘full-circle’ moment. I am proud to say that we still produce products that trace their origins back to developments I was involved with earlier in my career, like the iconic ‘M&S Cottage Pie meal for one’. It makes this opportunity especially meaningful, and I’m excited to help shape the next generation of products and innovation across the business.”
Ian Fletcher, who oversees the meals division at 2 Sisters Food Group, commented on Bull’s appointment, saying, “We are delighted to welcome Sarah to 2 Sisters Food Group. Sarah brings a wealth of experience in innovation, product development, and customer partnership, having built a strong track record working alongside some of the UK’s leading retailers.”
Fletcher emphasized that Bull’s in-depth understanding of consumer trends and her dedication to crafting high-quality products make her an invaluable part of the team. “Her appointment reflects our continued commitment to investing in talent and capabilities that support long-term growth, product excellence, and trusted retail partnerships.”
