The Compleat Food Group has acquired SK Foods and Zorba Foods, dips, and party food specialists. This event highlights a significant business deal within the food and beverage industry. The acquisitions aim to accelerate growth and enhance category leadership for the Compleat Food Group.

SK Foods and Zorba Foods have a combined turnover of over £160m ($200.7m), with more than 1,150 employees. SK Foods, formed in 1987, specializes in party foods, including Indian, Oriental, Tex Mex, Mediterranean, and traditional British favorites. Notably, the company holds approximately 40% of the market share for private-label party foods outside of the Christmas period. On the other hand, Zorba Foods, established in 1976, offers Greek houmous and a variety of globally-inspired dips and sauces for retail and foodservice channels, claiming around 25% of the private-label dips market.

The Compleat Food Group expressed plans to invest in both companies to extend their capabilities, driving further innovation and inspiring growth within their respective categories. This strategic move reflects the company’s commitment to delight consumers and deliver sustained growth in the sector.

In previous years, the Compleat Food Group has taken organizational steps to reinforce its market position. The group was formed in 2021 through a merger of UK portfolio companies Winterbotham Darby and Addo Food Group. Since then, it has made several strategic acquisitions, including pie maker Wrights Food Group and vegan cheese business Palace Culture, with ambitions to become the country’s “number one chilled prepared food company.” Moreover, the company holds existing brands such as Pork Farms, Wall’s Pastry, Squeaky Bean, Unearthed, and Vadasz.

Following the acquisition, Jeremy Faulkner, CEO of both SK Foods and Zorba, expressed the importance of shared values with the Compleat Food Group and the ambition to drive innovation and growth in their categories and with key partners.

This strategic acquisition of SK Foods and Zorba Foods supplements the Compleat Food Group’s aim to strengthen its market position and enhance category leadership. The investment represents the company’s dedication to realize sustained growth objectives in the highly competitive food and beverage industry. Through expansion and innovation, the Compleat Food Group endeavors to offer exciting and delightful products to consumers.
