The UK food manufacturer Samworth Brothers has acquired the remaining shares in ready-made sandwiches and wraps producer Real Wrap Company. This strategic move aims to strengthen Samworth Brothers’ position in the convenience foods business, which has been a significant success story for the group and is well-positioned for growth.

Hugo Mahoney, Samworth Brothers’ chief executive, expressed optimism about the acquisition, highlighting the shared values and focus on quality foods between the two companies. He emphasized that the Real Wrap Company, established in 2012, is a dynamic and innovative organization with great potential for future development.

Real Wrap Co. specializes in prepared cold and ready-to-heat sandwiches, wraps, salads, and fruit and granola pots. Additionally, the company distributes other brands such as Pollen + Grace and Flawsome, offering plant-based ready meals and cold-pressed juices made from imperfect fruits and vegetables.

In a joint statement, Real Wrap Co. founders Jason Howell and Philippe Gill expressed their delight in partnering with Samworth Brothers, a like-minded organization that shares their commitment to delivering exceptional products while remaining conscious of their impact on customers, employees, and the environment.

Samworth Brothers’ diverse portfolio includes food-to-go brands like Ginsters and Urban Eat sandwiches, acquired in 2020. The group also operates Melton Foods, Bradgate Bakery, and Samworth Brothers Manton Wood, supplying private-label products and managing savoury pastry, ready meals, and protein business units.
