US-based confectionery and snacks company Mount Franklin Foods has acquired Stuffed Puffs, a manufacturer known for its innovative filled marshmallows, enhancing its position within the food and beverage industry. The financial specifics of the deal remain undisclosed.
This noteworthy transaction allows Mount Franklin to incorporate a Pennsylvania-based company into its portfolio, which boasts investors such as noted US music producer and DJ Marshmello, along with his manager, Moe Shalizi. Stuffed Puffs, which was founded in 2019 by Michael Tierney, produces marshmallow products filled with creamy milk chocolate and a variety of other delicious ingredients.
“As we continue to evolve our business, the acquisition of Stuffed Puffs represents a significant step in broadening our confectionery portfolio,” stated Enrique Grajeda, CEO of Mount Franklin Foods since 2019. He emphasized, “We are excited to combine our strengths with those of Stuffed Puffs to deliver greater value and innovation to our customers.”
Mount Franklin Foods, headquartered in El Paso, Texas, manufactures a wide range of products—including nut items, mints, gummies, fruit snacks, and plant-based proteins—targeting both retail and foodservice channels. The company also comprises divisions such as Sunrise Confections, Azar Nut, and Hospitality Mints. Furthermore, it operates a co-manufacturing and private-label business tailored to the US retail market.
This strategic acquisition aligns perfectly with Mount Franklin’s goal to diversify and expand its offerings within the food and drink sector. In the context of industry movements, it is worth noting that Mount Franklin previously acquired Arro Food Processing Division in 2020, which specializes in contract manufacturing of cereals, trail mixes, and nuts. This acquisition also encompassed the Arro Ingredients Division situated in Chicago, Illinois, which has since been rebranded as Element Food Solutions.
