Kimberli Carroll promoted to CEO of Ruiz Foods Frozen, Savoury Snacks Food and Beverage Business Ruiz

Ruiz Foods, the US-based owner of the El Monterey Mexican food brand, has made changes to its executive team.

Effective from 21 January, Kimberli Carroll, who has been with the company for almost 23 years, has been promoted to president and CEO, taking over from current CEO Dan Antonelli, who will transition to the role of executive board chair. Carroll’s promotion follows her appointment as chief operating officer in September 2023, during which she played a key role in developing and deploying successful new products for the company’s foodservice and retail businesses.

Speaking on her appointment, Carroll said, “I am humbled and honoured to lead one of the finest family-owned companies in America.” She also mentioned her intent to continue Antonelli’s legacy, acknowledging his role in leading the company on a transformative journey to becoming a top-performing organization.

According to the company’s statement, these leadership changes are designed to position Ruiz Foods for its next period of growth. Kim Ruiz Beck, co-owner and board chair, highlighted Carroll’s leadership skills and deep relationships as qualities that make her uniquely qualified to lead the company.

Ruiz Foods’ portfolio is focused on frozen foods selling across various channels of distribution. It also owns the snack brand Tornados and employs more than 4,000 workers across its five manufacturing facilities. In 2022, the food maker acquired the contract manufacturer Culinary International.

Ruiz Foods’ new executive leadership and board changes are intended to position the company for its next great growth period in the food and beverage industry. These changes are expected to contribute to the company’s plans to become the nation’s best frozen-food company in the eyes of its team members, suppliers, customers, and consumers. This bold vision for the company’s future is backed by the company’s commitment to delivering top quality products and services to its stakeholders.

Overall, Ruiz Foods aims to leverage these changes to further solidify its position in the food and drink business and stay attuned to consumer trends in the ever-evolving food and beverage industry.
