While the financial details of the acquisition remain undisclosed, IFS stated the deal allows for the expansion of its capabilities into critical sectors such as healthcare and senior nutrition. This move comes in response to the rising demand for meal delivery services designed specifically for the elderly.
Since its establishment by John Glancey in 1998, Food With Care has been a key player in Florida, delivering “dietitian-backed” meals to older adults for nearly three decades.
The leadership and staff at Food With Care will continue their roles, collaborating closely with IFS to ensure a seamless transition and uphold service excellence throughout Florida.
Jonathan Dickl, operating partner and president of Food With Care, remarked: “Food with Care was looking for a partner that reflected its core values of servant leadership and making a difference in the lives of team members and clients.”
As part of this strategic acquisition, both organizations plan to “expand nationwide” while emphasizing their “shared commitment to (providing) high-quality, culturally responsive meals” to meet the “evolving needs” of diverse populations.
IFS co-president Lincoln Yee characterized the acquisition as an “exciting new chapter,” asserting the company’s intention to “expand into healthcare and senior services.”
Yee added, “It allows us to extend our culturally inclusive, convenient meal solutions to meet the evolving needs of individuals at every life stage – with the same quality, convenience, and care that define our brand.”
Founded in 2008 by Allan Lam and Lincoln Yee, IFS specializes in producing “high-quality, pre-made ethnic meals” that encompass a variety of cuisines, including Asian, Indian, Latin, and Mediterranean.
IFS products find their way to institutional customers such as primary and secondary schools, long-term care facilities, hospitals, and US military bases, thereby enhancing its footprint in the food manufacturing industry.
With a diverse portfolio that includes brands like Asian Food Solutions, Green Dragon, Aahar, Comida Vida, SNAP Gourmet, and Miss Olive’s Meals, IFS is headquartered in both Florida and Cleveland. The company has also made significant strides with a recent $65 million investment in a new 120,000-square-foot production facility in Cleveland, showcasing its ambition in the ever-evolving food manufacturing landscape.
