Campbell’s Appoints Chief Growth Officer Following Leadership Transition

Campbell's Appoints Chief Growth Officer Following Leadership Transition The Campbell’s Company Food and Beverage Business

The Campbell Company has established a new chief growth officer role as part of a restructuring initiative within its snacks division. Janda Lukin, currently the senior vice president and head of marketing for snacks, will take on this role effective June 2, with a focus on “driving accelerated growth across the company,” which rebranded from Campbell Soup Co. just last year.

In addition, Mick Beekhuizen, who succeeded Mark Clouse as group president and CEO in early February, has also announced a leadership change within the snacks division. Chris Foley, the division’s president, will depart after a 25-year tenure with the company. Foley has led Campbell’s snacks unit since 2022 and will be succeeded by Elizabeth Duggan, currently the senior VP and general manager of operations in Canada, starting May 12.

As chief growth officer, Lukin “will lead enterprise-wide growth strategies, elevate key commercial capabilities and drive transformative growth through insights and analytics, enhanced consumer experience and activations, innovation, and revenue growth management,” according to a company statement. This appointment aligns with Campbell’s ongoing commitment to adapting to food and beverage industry trends, especially as it adjusts to recent challenges in the snacks segment.

Last month, the company revised its sales and operating profit projections for fiscal 2025, citing observed “softness” in snacks—a challenge not unique to Campbell in the current landscape of the food and drink business.

Duggan will “oversee the long-term growth and margin expansion of the snacks division” and will be supported by Foley until his departure in July. Beekhuizen expressed confidence in Lukin’s abilities: “Janda brings a history of high performance at Campbell’s and elsewhere leading brand strategy, marketing, insights and innovation. She has the expertise and vision needed to accelerate our growth and deliver top-tier performance.”

Regarding Duggan, he noted, “Elizabeth is a strong operator and culture builder with a track record of fostering winning teams. Her broad commercial and operational experience is well suited to unlock growth of our snacks division.” This change illustrates Campbell’s proactive approach to meeting evolving food and drink consumer trends.

Foley reflected on his time at the company, saying, “After 25 incredible years, the time has come for me to move on. This company has been a place of growth and a source of endless pride. I am deeply grateful for the talented teams, inspiring colleagues, and the opportunity to contribute to such an iconic business.”

Looking at Lukin’s career, she has been part of Campbell’s team since 2016, serving as VP of marketing for beverages and soups before becoming CMO for snacks in 2019. Before joining Campbell’s, she spent 14 years with Mondelez International and held marketing roles at Kraft Foods.

New snacks president Duggan joined the company in 2019 as the senior VP for its transformation office and later took on the same role for operations in Canada. Her prior experience includes tenures at McKinsey & Company and at Home Chef, the meal-kit provider acquired by Kroger in 2018. Duggan’s position in Canada will be filled by Mackenzie Davison, currently the VP of marketing for Campbell’s in that region.

This strategic leadership realignment positions Campbell’s to better navigate the competitive landscape of the food and beverage industry, allowing the company to drive sustainable growth.
