GoodLife Foods, a Netherlands-based company, has recently acquired frozen food products business Pure Ingredients. Both companies operate in the branded and private-label food segments across European markets. The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Headquartered in Nettetal-Kaldenkirchen, Germany, Pure Ingredients specializes in supplying halal frozen snacks and side dishes under brands like Lekker & Anders, Mekkafood, and Herrenhof. They cater to retail and foodservice channels, including ethnic food stores in the Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium. With three production plants – two in the Netherlands and one in Germany – Pure Ingredients employs over 200 staff.
Dirk Van de Walle, CEO of GoodLife Foods, sees this acquisition as an opportunity to further expand their presence in the halal frozen products market. The recent acquisition of Audens Food Group in Spain and Portugal aligns with their growth plan for the coming years.
Wout van Eeuwijk, owner of Pure Ingredients, will continue to be part of the company, expressing optimism about combining their strengths with GoodLife Foods. He believes this partnership will lead to future growth opportunities for Pure Ingredients.
GoodLife Foods, known for producing frozen savory food products, is based in Breda and operates six manufacturing plants in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Denmark. The addition of Audens Foods has expanded their presence with five more plants in Spain and Belgium, enhancing their product offerings.
Jos Bongers, CEO of Pure Ingredients, acknowledges the potential of this transaction to expand their halal product range in collaboration with GoodLife Foods’ customer network. This strategic move will not only strengthen their market position but also enable internal professionalization across all operational functions.
Overall, the acquisition of Pure Ingredients by GoodLife Foods signifies a strategic partnership to capitalize on market opportunities and drive growth in the food and beverage industry.
