Crosta & Mollica announces investment and new chairman Bakery and Cereal, ice cream Food and Beverage Business

UK-based Italian food products manufacturer Crosta & Mollica has secured new investment from private equity firm Perwyn Advisors, and announced the appointment of David Milner as its new chairman. The company, which has a wide product portfolio from breadsticks and pizza to gelato, distributes its products through major UK supermarkets. The investment from Perwyn will support its international expansion plans and maintain its growth within the UK. The investment also aims to focus on “product innovation, customer service and brand investment”.

The size of the stake acquired by Perwyn and the amount paid for it have not been disclosed. James Orr, the founder of Crosta & Mollica, expressed his delight, saying: “I am delighted to welcome Perwyn as partners to Crosta & Mollica. Their shared vision for the potential of the business matches the ambition of our incredible team. We are only part way towards realizing our goal of becoming a leading global Italian food brand and Perwyn’s international and sector expertise will help accelerate us towards achieving that.”

Perwyn, headquartered in London, already has a number of food businesses in its portfolio and is pleased to collaborate with Crosta & Mollica. “The growth and increasing presence of Crosta & Mollica across multiple countries is incredibly impressive and testament to the passion they have for developing top quality products befitting of a premium and relatable brand,” remarked Gurinder Sunner, a partner at Perwyn.

The company has also welcomed David Milner as its new chairman, who has extensive experience working for companies such as Tyrrells and St Pierre Groupe. Milner expressed his enthusiasm, saying: “James and his team have created a truly unique business. Their relentless focus on innovation and quality has led to a best-in-class product range spanning the most loved categories of the world’s favorite cuisine. The opportunity for further growth is huge and I am thrilled to be able to join the business at this exciting juncture.”
