Borough Broth, an innovative brand in the organic food sector, has secured significant investment from Piper, a consumer-focused investment firm. This funding will facilitate Borough Broth’s move to a new manufacturing facility in West London, effectively doubling its current production capacity. Presently, Borough Broth produces all of its offerings in-house at its West London site and employs over 50 dedicated team members.

In addition to enhancing manufacturing capabilities, the investment will bolster the upper management team and drive ongoing innovation across new organic product categories, including soups, stocks, and gravies.

Founded by Ros Heathcote in 2015 with just £6,000 borrowed from a friend, Borough Broth has experienced remarkable growth—from a small kitchen operation in London to an organic B Corp–certified brand. The company’s mission revolves around reclaiming bones from the meat industry, diverting them from waste or pet food, and transforming them into healthy organic bone broth.

To date, Borough Broth has successfully raised £783,000 through angel investments, achieving an annualized revenue of approximately £11 million. Looking ahead, the company anticipates surpassing £20 million in revenue by 2026. The partnership with Piper marks Borough Broth’s first institutional investment, establishing a solid foundation for its future expansion.

Rory Gibbs, partner at Piper, remarked, “Borough Broth is perfectly positioned at the intersection of taste, health, sustainability, and convenience. Ros has built a truly special brand with exceptional products and purpose at its heart. We see huge potential to grow Borough Broth into a household name, one that leads the conversation around healthy, nourishing, and sustainable eating.”

Ros Heathcote, founder and CEO of Borough Broth Company, expressed, “We have built Borough Broth with great care and discipline, raising just £783,000 in angel investment to reach this point, and that focus has shaped who we are. I started Borough Broth to help people feel genuinely nourished by real food made the right way, and partnering with Piper means we can bring that mission to even more people.”

She further added, “Piper invests in purposeful brands, and their shared values genuinely matter to us. This partnership validates how far we have come, and we are energized to grow while staying true to our principles and delivering a strong, sustainable return for Piper’s investors.”

Among Borough Broth’s customers, 57% primarily use the product as a cooking ingredient—enhancing the flavor of soups, sauces, stews, rice dishes, and roasts. Meanwhile, 24% enjoy it as a comforting hot drink, and 19% consume it for its functional health benefits, including gut health and immune support. With high protein and collagen content, it also contributes to longevity by promoting joint health, skin vitality, and overall aging well.

In the past year, Borough Broth has achieved significant national listings in both Sainsbury’s and Tesco, supplementing its established presence in Ocado and Waitrose. The range available at Sainsbury’s also recently expanded to include three new products: Organic Grass-Fed Beef Bone Broth, Organic Free-Range Chicken Pho, and Sustainably-Caught Wild Fish Bone Broth.
