Wall’s introduces new snack options to enhance the food-to-go category

Food and Drink Technology

Wall’s is expanding its presence in the supermarket meal deal category with the introduction of two new snack options, aiming to enhance the food-to-go offering.

The Wall’s Large Sausage Roll will be available in Tesco’s food-to-go section nationwide starting this month. Following a successful relaunch of its sausage roll range last year, Wall’s has improved the recipe and introduced a new pack weight of 100g as part of the meal deal. This will provide shoppers with a larger, branded format of the popular savoury pastry snack.

In addition to the new roll, Wall’s is also launching the Wall’s Scotch Egg, featuring a whole boiled egg encased in pork sausage meat and coated in breadcrumbs. This unique option will cater to consumers seeking alternative snack choices in the food-to-go category.

The decision to enter the meal deal snacks market builds on Wall’s impressive growth over the past year, with record sales and a remarkable increase of +43%  over the latest 52 weeks.

Both the Wall’s Large Sausage Roll (100g) and the Wall’s Scotch Egg (113g) are now available.
Commenting on the expansion, Jason Manley, brand director at Wall’s Pastry, expressed the brand’s determination to broaden its availability and participate in more meal occasions. He emphasized that category-leading brands can significantly contribute to meal deal offers, providing shoppers with the assurance of high-quality snacks.

“As the number one branded sausage roll and fastest-growing brand in chilled savoury pastry, we are well-placed to prominently feature our delicious snack options at the front of the store. We expect our new sausage roll and scotch egg to be popular choices, marking the beginning of an exciting year for Wall’s in the food-to-go market.”
