Lacons, based in Lowestoft, serves over 1,000 customer accounts throughout the east of England and into London.
With roots tracing back to 1760, Lacons stands out as a dynamic, modern brewery committed to innovation. Currently, the company brews both cask and keg beers, ensuring a diverse offering of more than 2,000 product lines.
On the other hand, Unitas is a prominent independent wholesale buying group that supports a network of over 130 members across 285 distribution points.
Looking ahead, Lacons aims to increase its turnover to £30 million by 2027 while expanding its national presence.
“Following our recent relocation to a new distribution centre, marking the next phase of our growth strategy, joining Unitas Wholesale aligns perfectly with our goals,” stated Lacons Managing Director Mick Carver.
“This partnership not only allows us to continue offering our award-winning range of beers but also enables us to provide our customers with increasingly unique and exclusive brands at competitive prices. We eagerly anticipate a long-term collaboration with Unitas as a vital contributor to the group.”
In response, Unitas Managing Director John Kinney expressed enthusiasm about Lacons joining the group.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Lacons as our latest on-trade member,” Kinney remarked.
“Their unique dual role as both a brewer and wholesaler opens exciting new avenues for our group. With our shared values and aligned vision, their addition significantly enhances our proposition and future ambitions.”
“We take pride in their choice to partner with us and look forward to hosting Mick Carver and his team at our upcoming Meet the Member event at The Forest of Arden in June.”
This news comes on the heels of Unitas’s announcement regarding its recent appointment of Gurms Athwal as the new trading director.
