Tesco supermarket has released data revealing the top-selling sandwich fillings enjoyed by their customers over the past three years. The Sausage, Bacon & Egg Triple Sandwich has continued its reign as the most popular choice, with over a million units sold on average per month. In addition, the Triple Chicken option has experienced a remarkable year-on-year increase in sales, soaring by 19%.
Despite the vegetarian range of sandwiches on offer, Tesco customers have shown a clear preference for meat-based fillings. An astounding seven out of ten top-selling sandwiches feature meat, with bacon being the most frequently chosen ingredient. Even Just Ham has earned a place in the top ten. For vegetarian options, the Cheese & Onion sandwich is the preferred choice amongst Tesco shoppers.
It is interesting to note that the classic Tuna & Sweetcorn sandwich has lost its appeal amongst Tesco customers. In 2023, it has dropped out of the top ten most popular Food to Go choices for the first time in recent years.
