Following the successful launch of Real Frozen Bananas Dipped in Chocolate earlier this year, Pukpip is now unveiling their next frozen treat in development, Real Banana Bites.
The new product features 16 slices, or ‘bites’, of frozen banana, available in milk chocolate, dark chocolate, or peanut butter variants. These new frozen treats are set to hit the market in March 2024 and will come packaged in resealable pouches, allowing consumers to easily grab and share straight from the freezer. Additionally, the dark chocolate and peanut butter variants will be vegan-friendly, with each pouch containing four servings.
Pukpip initially entered the market in January with retail boxes of three chocolate-dipped frozen bananas in milk or dark chocolate. They later introduced a third white chocolate variant in July, alongside the launch of singles available to hospitality and convenience retail.
Managing director Zara Godfrey expressed the brand’s excitement about offering a sharing bag option, following the positive response to the frozen bananas. She highlighted the responsibly-sourced and freshly-frozen nature of Pukpip’s bananas, which are sourced from the coastal region of Ecuador and rescued from potential waste due to imperfections or surplus. The brand also upcycles banana peels back into the ecosystem.
Zara Godfrey emphasized the appeal of Real Banana Bites, noting that they are made with real banana slices and chocolate or peanut butter, without any artificial ingredients. The product offers convenience and permissible indulgence, allowing consumers to treat themselves while incorporating more fruit into their diet.
Real Banana Bites are set to be available for retail purchase from March 2024.
