National Lottery retailers are in for an exciting weekend of sales boosted by two enormous draws. Beginning the sales weekend is the massive EuroMillions draw on Friday (5 May) boasting an estimated £138m jackpot. The attention this draw generates will draw in increased numbers of players to stores, eager for their chance to win. Adding to the excitement, a special ‘over £130m’ EuroMillions rollover poster has already arrived at around 19,000 stores.

However, the highlight of the week is the special £20m Lotto ‘Must Be Won’ draw on Saturday (6 May). This celebratory Lotto draw commemorates the King’s Coronation and is expected to provide a staggering 56% sales uplift for National Lottery retailers.

POS for the draw has already arrived at retailers and is well sited to drive sales. National Lottery has invested significantly in media advertising, with a new TV ad, as well as radio, press, billboards, digital and social media campaigns. The intention is to encourage players to visit stores and buy tickets, therefore boosting retailers’ bottom lines.

Camelot’s retail director Alex Green stated, “Backed by significant media investment and exciting media interest, the two enormous draws will generate plenty of excitement from players who’ll be going into stores around the UK to buy their tickets to see if their luck’s in this weekend. Retailers can create added excitement and secure extra sales by talking with customers about the immense jackpots, and by ensuring their POS is well sited.”

Besides increasing retailers’ bottom lines through National Lottery sales commission and the extra footfall that these draws bring, both of these draws will be helping National Lottery players contribute to the more than £30m they raise for Good Causes weekly. Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to boost sales and help contribute to Good Causes!
