Small business owners nationwide are encouraged to participate in a program of free virtual workshops and one-to-one mentoring this autumn. This initiative is a key component of the campaign’s nationwide roadshow, known as ‘The Tour.’ The roadshow is part of the official celebrations and countdown to Small Business Saturday on 2 December, and it is supported by BT Skills for Tomorrow.

Small businesses from all regions of the country have the opportunity to register for over 20 workshops led by industry experts. These workshops cover a range of beneficial topics, including sales growth, sustainability, confidence building, and diversity, equity, and inclusion guidance. Topics such as Sustainability for Small Businesses, Unlocking Grants and Investments, Business Planning, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion guidance will be covered.

To incentivize attendance, entrepreneurs who participate in at least ten workshops will receive a Christmas gift, a JustBe Botanicals bath set. Additionally, free online coaching sessions with experienced business mentors will be available, offering personalized guidance and support.

‘The Tour’ will also travel to 23 locations across the country to showcase the achievements of small businesses, starting from 30 October. Entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to share their stories and network through Small Business Saturday’s active social media channels. Furthermore, a weekly Small Business Happy Hour will feature giveaways from local businesses, fostering community spirit and collaboration.

Michelle Ovens CBE, director of Small Business Saturday UK, stated, “Small Business Saturday has provided support to the UK’s entrepreneurs for over a decade. This year’s program will be especially helpful to small businesses as they navigate challenges caused by the cost-of-living crisis, while also encouraging an optimistic outlook for the future.”

Small Business Saturday is a grassroots, non-commercial campaign that celebrates the success of small businesses and encourages consumers to ‘shop local’ and support businesses in their communities. Celebrating its 11th year, the campaign will take place on 2 December 2023, with principal supporter American Express offering their backing.
