Independent soft drink and mixer brand, Franklin & Sons, has announced an exciting expansion of its soft drinks range. The brand is introducing a sleek 250ml recycled aluminium can format, launching initially in three of its best-selling flavour SKUs.
These carbonated soft drinks will be available to both on-trade and off-trade markets, as well as export markets, starting from 16th August. The new range features three fragrant flavours: Elderflower, Raspberry, and Dandelion & Burdock, with a recommended retail price of £12.99 for a pack of 12x250ml cans.
This launch addresses recent market data indicating a strong consumer preference for on-the-go drink consumption and ease of portability, especially for outdoor events during the summer months.
Moreover, the rising consumer awareness around sustainability has significantly influenced this decision. Many consumers are now actively opting for canned drinks over single-use plastic or glass options due to aluminum’s widespread recyclability.
The adult soft drinks market is experiencing growth, with an estimated current value of £83.4 million, reflecting consumer demand for eco-friendly premium drink options that are ideal for on-the-go enjoyment.
Within this category, Elderflower and Raspberry are standout flavours, boasting sales figures of £23.2 million and £13.2 million, respectively. Customers increasingly seek flavour variety, as well as premium, aesthetically pleasing soft drink choices.
As a cornerstone of the brand’s original flavour collection, Dandelion & Burdock highlights Franklin & Sons’ commitment to provenance, celebrating the brand’s traditional and pioneering heritage.
The entire range is vegan-friendly, HFSS compliant, and low-calorie, containing no artificial additives. Additionally, each flavour features its own distinctive, premium can design.

This new product development follows the recent launch of the brand’s Peach & Mango flavour—a refreshing, tropical soft drink introduced in response to a remarkable 30.7% year-on-year growth in peach and mango flavour variants within the category.
