Crosta & Mollica is expanding its range of pizzas with the introduction of its first gluten-free Margherita Pizza. This product will be exclusively available to purchase from Ocado from 3rd May, at an RRP of £5.00 for a 355g pack.
The gluten-free market is a rapidly growing sector, worth an estimated £835 million per year. Crosta & Mollica, a self-described modern Italian brand, recognizes the importance of this category within the food industry, and has responded with the creation of this gluten-free pizza.
The key to making a delicious pizza always starts with the base. However, gluten-free options have long been considered subpar. In response, Crosta & Mollica has developed a superior gluten-free base, which uses authentic wheat flour, with the gluten extracted to make it suitable for those with coeliac diets. The dough is slowly-proved, which creates a desirable crunch and an open crumb structure, making the gluten-free alternative almost indistinguishable from a traditional pizza. Despite being gluten-free, there is no compromise on taste or quality. The crust is topped with a classic tomato sauce, mozzarella and Sicilian oregano, and finally, sprinkled with a vegetarian cheese.
In addition, Crosta & Mollica has developed a gluten-free option that’s suitable for everyone to enjoy, without sacrificing taste. Furthermore, they have foregone substitutes and imitations, instead opting for authentic wheat flour – ensuring that the pizza is as close to the original as possible.
Overall, Crosta & Mollica’s gluten-free Margherita Pizza is a high-quality product that is sure to appeal to lovers of Italian food, whilst catering to the dietary needs of those with coeliac disease. It’s also a great option for any pizza lover who wants to enjoy a healthy and tasty treat.
