The Make A Mark design innovation incubator will return for its third year in 2023! This creative platform, founded by Estal, Avery Dennison, and KURZ, explores the limitless possibilities of sustainable luxury packaging for the beauty and fragrance, drinks, wine, and spirits, and gourmet food industries.

This year’s program will showcase twenty renowned packaging designers from around the world. These designers have been carefully selected and invited to submit design concepts under the theme of ‘progressive design at the intersection of sustainability, luxury, and innovation’.

Designers are encouraged to push the boundaries of luxury packaging design and explore the latest technologies and material innovations in this year’s program. With no budget or material constraints, they have the freedom to reimagine what’s possible.

ESTAL’s CEO, Gerard Albertí, comments, “Every year gets bigger and better, with designers constantly surpassing expectations in innovating with new materials and processes. We’re excited to share this year’s concepts with the world.”

Avery Dennison’s Market Segment Leader for Wine & Spirits, Vladimir Tyulpin, states, “The right packaging design can create a memorable product image in the minds of consumers, driving sales and fostering customer loyalty. The designers in this year’s Make a Mark program have consistently demonstrated this balance between beauty, elegance, and sustainability goals.”

Stéphane Royère, Head of Business Area Packaging and Print at KURZ, adds, “Make a Mark serves as the ideal platform for brands to find inspiration for environmentally friendly packaging. Not only can they make a difference on the shelf but also decrease the environmental impact. What’s exciting is that we move beyond concepts to actual production, proving the feasibility of these designs for brands.”

The 2023 design concepts have all been transformed into physical prototypes using glass from ESTAL, labeling materials from Avery Dennison, and printing tools and embellishments from KURZ. These prototypes will be unveiled at Luxe Pack Monaco from 2nd to 4th October 2023 and later showcased worldwide through exhibitions and a special-edition book.
