The Clarity cups, holding a green rating under the UK’s Recyclability Assessment Methodology, are strategically designed to assist obligated businesses in minimizing their pEPR fees. This stands in contrast to less recyclable packaging formats, making them an essential component of food and drink sustainability initiatives.

However, it is important to note that these cups require appropriate recycling infrastructure to ensure proper recycling.

Crafted from recycled PET, the Clarity cups surpass the 30% recycled-content threshold mandated by the UK Plastic Packaging Tax. This makes them a prime example of sustainable packaging in the food and drink market.

Targeted at cafés, takeaway businesses, foodservice operators, and grab-and-go retailers, these crack-resistant cups use 100% recycled materials. Importantly, they contain no virgin plastic, which supports eco-friendly practices in food and drink packaging. They are perfectly suited for serving a variety of beverages, including smoothies, matcha drinks, iced coffees, juices, desserts, and bubble tea, and can be recycled after use.

Alexandra Forsyth-Nash, product development manager at Go-Pak Group, stated: “Clarity has been developed for businesses that want to reduce their use of virgin plastic while continuing to offer reliable, high-quality drinks packaging.”

Furthermore, she emphasized, “It also demonstrates how plastic waste can be collected, processed, and used to create another product, supporting a more circular approach to packaging.” This aligns well with emerging consumer trends focused on sustainability in the food and drink sector.
