Urschel is set to present its newest cutting technology, the Little Gem Aspire Dicer, at a series of prominent global exhibitions starting in May 2026. This release represents a pivotal advancement for fruit and vegetable processors who require compact, precision-engineered machinery.

The inaugural public demonstration of the new model will take place at Interpack in Düsseldorf from May 7 to May 13. Following this event, it will be showcased at the National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago from May 16 to May 19, FOOMA in Tokyo from June 2 to June 5, and ProPak Asia in Bangkok from June 10 to June 13. Each exhibition will feature an official unveiling, offering processors a unique opportunity to observe the dicer’s efficiency and functionality firsthand.

Engineered by Urschel’s Innovation & Development team, the Little Gem Aspire introduces an innovative cutting system that relies on patented technologies and comprehensive global research and development. According to Urschel, the initiative involved significant collaboration among its innovation, engineering, and manufacturing departments and included trials with clients across the globe to optimize the machinery’s performance.

Targeted at processors with constrained space, the Little Gem Aspire boasts a compact design while delivering a variety of precise cuts. It can create slices between 2 to 10 mm, as well as strips and dices up to 20 mm, making it versatile for various applications within the fruit and vegetable sector. Urschel promotes this machine as “ready to run,” catering to manufacturers seeking quick installation and dependable, consistent performance.

The dicer’s name pays homage to the original Little Gem, a groundbreaking creation by founder William E. Urschel during the early 1900s. This initial device, which was engineered to remove stems and blossoms from gooseberries, could replace the work of 100 laborers and played a significant role in revolutionizing early canning processes. Urschel asserts that the Aspire model upholds that legacy, offering processors a contemporary, patent-pending cutting solution that embodies over a century of innovation.

More information will be made available on the company’s website leading up to the exhibition dates. Urschel intends for these global unveilings to provide customers with direct access to the new technology and illustrate how the Aspire dicer can meet today’s processing requirements for efficiency, precision, and adaptability.
