Max Fame Group, an international luxury packaging manufacturer that specializes in sustainable packaging for sectors including electronics, food, drink, and cosmetics, has launched its first UK base in Trafford, Greater Manchester. This significant investment of up to £6.8m* in the local economy is set to create new opportunities and boost the region’s growth.
With over 40 years of experience, Max Fame Group already operates five factories across China, Vietnam, and Thailand. Now, with support from MIDAS (Manchester’s Inward Investment Agency), the company has secured a 10-year lease on a 21,500 sq ft logistics building at Carrington Gateway in Trafford. The initial capital investment of £1m will generate 100 new jobs over the next three years, as part of the company’s global expansion.
As recognized by the Department of Business and Trade, Greater Manchester presents a high potential opportunity for sustainable packaging. The region houses a vibrant food, drink, and packaging cluster comprising over 700 companies, offering cutting-edge technology, innovation, capabilities, and skills.
David Hsieh, President of Max Fame, expressed:
“Greater Manchester’s commitment to low carbon initiatives, abundant talent pool, and strategic geographical location have created an ideal environment for investment and entrepreneurship. It is, therefore, the optimal choice and a crucial base for our global supply chain. I would like to extend my gratitude to the MIDAS team and colleagues for their invaluable services and assistance throughout the process. We eagerly anticipate further collaboration to make substantial contributions to the low carbon agenda of the city-region and its communities.”
Joe Manning, Managing Director at MIDAS, commented:
“Our expertise in advanced manufacturing and the growing reputation of Greater Manchester as a hub for sustainable innovation have attracted global leaders like Max Fame to establish and expand their operations in our region. This investment exemplifies the positive impact of foreign inward investment, creating job opportunities and driving progress locally. MIDAS, in collaboration with the Manchester China Forum, has worked closely with Max Fame to secure this invaluable investment.”
Trafford Council Leader Tom Ross emphasized:
“We are thrilled to welcome an outstanding addition to our green economy. Max Fame’s recognition of the talent and expertise we possess in Greater Manchester is truly rewarding. Attracting a global manufacturer to Carrington not only generates more jobs but also provides a significant boost to our region.”
