Justin Stead has been appointed as the new chair of Walker’s Shortbread, becoming only the third individual to hold this prestigious position. He succeeds Bob Brannan, who effectively led the company for the past seven years.
Stead brings an impressive portfolio of experience in leading various global consumer brands along with a proven track record of strategic and innovative leadership, as noted by the company.
His extensive career includes senior leadership roles at some of the world’s most renowned consumer brands. Presently, he serves as chair for several global enterprises, including Le Col and Baby Mori, and has previously held CEO positions at Radley London and the Watches of Switzerland Group.
In addition to his corporate roles, Stead is the founder of the Aurelius Foundation, a community interest organization that promotes Stoic philosophy.
Nicky Walker, managing director of Walker’s Shortbread, expressed her enthusiasm: “Following an extensive recruitment process, I am delighted to welcome Justin Stead as the new chair of Walker’s Shortbread.”
“Justin brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the role, having built an impressive career across global brands. His strategic insight and commitment to excellence will be invaluable as we continue to grow and evolve as a business.”

I am honoured to take on this role and look forward to collaborating with the talented team to shape the next chapter of the Walker’s story. Together, we will build upon the company’s strong legacy to deliver continued success for years to come.”
Founded in 1898, Walker’s Shortbread boasts a remarkable 127-year legacy as a family-owned producer, exporting its products to around 100 countries worldwide.
