In a continued partnership with Amazon, oat milk brand Oatly is expanding its reach to multiple European countries. Following their successful collaboration in the UK, Oatly products will now be available in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, and Belgium.
Amazon Prime members in these markets will have the convenience of next-day delivery for Oatly products, including the popular Barista Edition, Oatly Light, and Oatly “No” Sugars varieties.
To oversee this expansion, Oatly has established a dedicated pan-European business group led by Bryan Carroll, the general manager of Oatly’s UK and Ireland operations.
Oatly Chief Operating Officer Daniel Ordoñez expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “We’re delighted to strengthen our partnership with Amazon and make Oatly products more accessible to customers across Europe. Amazon plays a crucial role in our mission to provide plant-based drinks that are affordable and sustainable, benefiting both individuals and small businesses while supporting the environment.”
Although Oatly recently revisited its sales forecast for the year following a decline in its Asian market, the company reported positive second-quarter results in the EMEA region. With a 17.6% year-on-year jump in revenue to $97 million and increased adjusted EBITDA of $7.3 million, Oatly CEO Jean-Christophe Flatin remains optimistic about achieving profitable growth by 2024.
“Our progress towards profitability is evident in our EMEA and Americas segments,” says Flatin. “Despite ongoing investments in demand generation, we continue to improve our adjusted EBITDA while meeting the increasing demand for our products.”
