Robotic solutions provider, Seegrid, has unveiled new capabilities for its Palion Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) at ProMat 2023. The Palion Lift and Palion Tow Tractor can now work together to autonomously load and unload carts without human intervention. These new capabilities provide improved safety, reliability, and throughput, thereby strengthening Seegrid’s case for customers.
Seegrid’s newest AMR, Palion Lift, uses its breakthrough 3D vision-based navigation technology, combined with situational awareness capabilities, to automate pallet movement. The Palion Lift can transport materials up to 3,500 pounds throughout customer operations, precisely and securely retrieving and placing palletized goods at heights of up to six feet for an end-to-end solution for pallet movement.
Additionally, the Palion Tow Tractor can autonomously transform horizontal material movement by tugging cart trains and other payloads up to 10,000 pounds, using proprietary autonomous navigation technology for safe delivery. With new advancements in perception technology, Palion Lift is now able to work directly with Palion Tow Tractor to load and unload carts, thus reducing the previous workflow’s time-consuming and labor-intensive nature.
The interoperability of Seegrid’s AMRs enables customers to optimize their existing workforce and improve operational efficiency in this expanded automation application. Seegrid’s Palion AMR fleet has already driven nearly 10 million autonomous miles in customer production environments, thus demonstrating the robustness and reliability of its solutions.
“Expectations and supply chain pressures continue to become more demanding and complex, requiring more integrated material handling solutions. Seegrid’s line of Palion AMRs is always evolving to support increasing needs throughout and across facilities,” said Chief Sales Officer David Griffin.
Seegrid’s latest advancements in autonomous technology not only relieve human beings of material handling tasks, but they also increase productivity and efficiency. Therefore, these new capabilities exemplify Seegrid’s commitment to shaping the future of automation by integrating automation solutions across various operations.
