Magnavale, a premier provider of cold food storage in the UK, has invested a staggering £130 million into its new development located in Easton Lincolnshire. With the construction of a 101,000-pallet cold store, the company aims to increase efficiency while reducing the facility’s footprint. The establishment is set to become the highest cold store in the UK, with a height of 47.5 metres, enabling Magnavale to serve its clients with even greater capacity.
More than merely boosting efficiency, the company aims to lead the way in environmental sustainability. This new development will be powered entirely by renewables, fitting for the first of many automated facilities Magnavale plans to build in strategic locations throughout the UK and Europe.
Since its groundbreaking in September 2022, Magnavale has made significant strides, positioning its Easton development to become the most efficient cold store in Europe. The main concrete slab has already been completed, while other components of the cold store, including the low bay cladding, steelwork for the staircase, and office, are nearing completion.
Magnavale has begun work on automating the high bay, and the high bay cladding, including the cranes, are currently being erected within the store’s steelwork lattice. The company’s goal is to make steady progress with the electrical infrastructure and fire suppression system alongside the construction of the refrigeration and oxygen reduction plantrooms. Magnavale remains confident that the development will be completed by Q4 2024.
