Bidfood Launches New UK Depot, Creating 200 Job Opportunities Food and Beverage Business

Bidfood has officially launched its 27th depot in Worcester, marking a significant step in the company’s commitment to enhancing its long-term infrastructure. This milestone aligns with the broader trends in food and beverage industry innovation.

Situated within the Worcester Six Business Park, this new facility will provide key transport links across the Midlands. Once fully operational later this year, it is expected to generate 200 new job opportunities for the local workforce, significantly contributing to the area’s economic growth.

Spanning 60,000 square feet, the depot features modern, high-quality facilities designed to meet increasing customer demand, particularly in the Birmingham area. This investment mirrors ongoing food distribution trends that prioritize efficiency and accessibility.

“Worcester will provide an outstanding addition to our already strong depot network,” stated Mark Wood, Chief Operating Officer at Bidfood.

“The introduction of yet another new depot continues to emphasise the importance that we place on long-term investment in our infrastructure.”

“Following record volumes of items handled by the Bidfood network recently, the addition of this new depot will further enhance our ability to provide our customers with service excellence and ultimately place us closer to them.”

In addition, Bidfood announced the development of its 28th depot in Durham, anticipated to open in the summer of 2026. This will further solidify Bidfood’s presence in the North-East, in response to evolving food manufacturing trends.

Operating across the UK, Bidfood provides a comprehensive range of 10,000 products, including notable own brands and premier foodservice options. This array encompasses over 250 varieties of wines, beers, ciders, and spirits, as well as catering essentials such as cutlery, cookware, and packaging materials.

Bidfood opened its 26th depot on the Cooksland Industrial Estate in Bodmin last year, generating 30 jobs for local drivers and enhancing its distribution network throughout the South West of England.

This 15,000 square foot facility was established to alleviate bottlenecks at the Lee Mill site during peak periods. Such strategic moves align with current food processing technology and sustainability efforts in the sector.
