WITT Gas Unveils the OXYPAD: A Cutting-Edge 2-in-1 Gas Analyzer for Quality Control in Modified Atmosphere Packaging food and drink packaging, food and drink sustainable packaging, Food packaging, Machinery Food and Beverage Business

WITT Gas, a global leader in gas safety, control, and analysis solutions, proudly presents the OXYPAD, an innovative O2/CO2 gas analyzer. This state-of-the-art device is engineered to establish new benchmarks in quality control for food and drink packaging, particularly within the modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) sectors of the food and pharmaceutical industries. The OXYPAD serves as a comprehensive 2-in-1 solution, functioning as both a high-quality table-top device and a mobile analyzer.

Leveraging decades of expertise and invaluable user feedback, WITT has designed the OXYPAD to exceed rigorous industry standards for food and drink sustainable packaging. Equipped with advanced gas sensor technology, it allows for prompt and accurate sampling via a needle to determine oxygen and carbon dioxide ratios in various packaging solutions. This device’s minimal gas sample requirement enables efficient testing of even the smallest packages with low gas volumes.

The OXYPAD is engineered with a needle casing that keeps the needle clean and secure. Its ergonomically shaped aluminum needle pen ensures straightforward usage, making it easy to puncture even the most delicate packages. Furthermore, a smooth twisting mechanism protects the sensitive needle and guarantees safe handling. Notably, sample flow control includes a warning for blocked needles, thus preventing false measurements. The device also automatically adjusts output if the needle or filter experiences minor contamination. Users can set tailored limit values for each gas per package and receive alerts should these thresholds be breached.

Weighing just under 600 grams and featuring a rechargeable battery, the OXYPAD is specifically designed for mobile applications. Its protective design conceals the tube and needle behind a front flap, reducing snagging hazards and minimizing injury risks during transport. Additionally, an accessible service flap simplifies maintenance, resulting in lower operational costs.

The OXYPAD operates via a 7-inch color touchscreen that boasts a user-friendly interface for intuitive operation, requiring minimal training. Moreover, its multilingual menu guide accommodates users from different regions. With drop-down menus for quick selection of products or packaging lines, all settings and master data can be efficiently managed. The device clearly displays analysis results, including packaging pressure, and features a statistics function granting direct access to measurement history. Importantly, it stores the last 5,000 measurements, which can be exported via USB for seamless archiving.

Designed with an emphasis on low operating and maintenance costs, the OXYPAD empowers users to conduct self-calibrations easily. Cleaning is straightforward, and components like the needle, hose, and filter can be replaced without any tools, further minimizing downtime. Depending on the application, the O2 sensor maintains a service life of up to two years in air. Both the sensor and rechargeable battery can be quickly and affordably replaced by the user, eliminating the need for expensive factory servicing.
