The Regina Di Fiori brand offers a range of herbal teas, packaged in practical and elegant containers. Each tea bag is individually wrapped to preserve its aroma, ensuring minimal handling—an important feature particularly valued in hotel or conference environments.
Currently, Vicentini employs NatureFlex™ compostable film to uphold the quality of their teas throughout the supply chain. This wrapping effectively protects the distinct aromas and flavors of each tea bag, which is crucial in mixed flavor boxes where cross-contamination can occur. Moreover, these individual wrappers provide convenience and can be composted along with the teabags at the end of their lifecycle, aligning with the principles of food and drink sustainable packaging.
NatureFlex™ films are crafted from renewable wood pulp gathered from responsibly managed plantations. They comply with all essential standards for industrial composting, including EU (EN13432) and US (ASTM D6400) regulations. Beyond industrial compostability, these films also meet the criteria for home composting, certified by the OK Compost Home protocol and recognized by Din Certco / ABA for French and Australian home composting standards.
In addition, Vicentini’s tea products feature a cardboard tag attached to the filter, which can be composted alongside the film, creating a fully sustainable packaging solution. Each aspect of this packaging has been meticulously designed to meet their environmental business objectives.
Marco Vicentini, CEO of Vicentini 1920 S.r.l, remarked: “NatureFlex™ delivers all of the technical properties that our packaging requires in order to protect the flavours and aromas. In addition, the film runs well on our packaging machine. To fulfil both of these key elements, but also be compostable, both at home and industrially, NatureFlex™ provides the complete packaging solution for us.”
Giorgio Berton, Italian Sales Manager at Futamura UK, stated: “I am thrilled by the success of Vicentini and their brand Regina di Fiori. They’ve achieved a beautiful piece of packaging which is both aesthetically pleasing as well as technically brilliant. I look forward to continuing to work alongside Vicentini.”
