Unlocking Energy Savings for Manufacturers: Introducing Endoline Automation at PPMA Show 2023

Unlocking Energy Savings for Manufacturers: Introducing Endoline Automation at PPMA Show 2023 Endoline Automation, energy savings, Manufacturers, PPMA Show 2023 Food and Beverage Business

At the upcoming PPMA Show, Endoline Automation is set to unveil a groundbreaking solution for customers in the food packaging industry. This innovative solution aims to enhance the efficiency of packaging lines, leading to energy savings of more than 60%.

Endoline’s star product at Stand E22 will be the 248 Fully Automatic Case Erector, which has been equipped with the cutting-edge SMC Air Management System (AMS). By closely monitoring the system’s air consumption, this advanced technology can significantly reduce energy costs for customers.

Compressed air is a widely used resource in manufacturing plants due to its cleanliness, safety, and abundance. However, without proper care and attention, it can become a costly resource. In fact, compressed air can account for up to 40% of a manufacturing facility’s total energy bill, making it a crucial area for cost optimization. Unmonitored air leaks can further compound the issue, leading to unnecessary expenses and reduced output.

To mitigate the risk of air leaks and help manufacturers reduce costs, Endoline has collaborated with SMC Pneumatics UK to integrate the Air Management System AMS30 into its Fully Automatic Case Erector. This sophisticated system carefully controls the air flow, ensuring that only the necessary amount is used. Moreover, when the machine is not in operation, the system automatically reduces air pressure to predetermined values and isolates the air supply, substantially minimizing unnecessary air consumption.

One of the standout features of this system is its capability to provide full traceability. With an OPCUA open dashboard facility, customers can monitor the output of compressed air from the systems and seamlessly integrate this data into their chosen monitoring system. This level of precision empowers customers to promptly detect any leaks and accurately measure their air usage.

Andrew Yates, the Managing Director of Endoline Automation, highlights the company’s commitment to energy efficiency: “Our fully automatic case erectors are powered by servo drives, allowing for greater flexibility and control during the erecting process. Servo drives consume power only as needed, thus saving energy. However, we understand the increasing pressure on our customers to further reduce energy costs, particularly regarding compressed air usage. We are thrilled to offer a solution that not only reduces energy expenses but also enhances the overall efficiency of our systems.”

The integration of SMC’s Air Management System AMS is compatible with most Endoline Automation systems and can also be retrofitted to existing Endoline systems with the necessary modifications.
