Twellium Industrial Company has formed a strategic partnership with Sidel to develop a state-of-the-art facility in Kumasi, Ghana. This greenfield project will feature two complete PET packaging lines for still and carbonated beverages.

Twellium Industrial Company (Twellium) excels in the production of non-alcoholic beverages, with its flagship product being Verna Mineral Water. Additionally, the company produces well-known brands such as Rush Energy Drink, Original American Cola, Planet Range, and Bubble Up Lemon Lime under license from Monarch Beverage Company.

Currently, Twellium operates two established production facilities in Accra, Ghana and Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso. They have now successfully commissioned their third ultra-modern site in Kumasi, Ghana.

The Kumasi facility is a greenfield project where Twellium has constructed the site entirely from scratch. This ambitious endeavor encompasses all civil works, infrastructure, and utilities, all while receiving support from Sidel in the installation of two advanced processing and packaging lines.

Cutting-edge PET Packaging Lines

The Kumasi site emphasizes diversity in manufacturing by utilizing various sizes of PET bottles and producing an array of beverages, including water, carbonated soft drinks (CSD), non-carbonated beverages, and energy drinks. This versatility in production allows Twellium to meet broad market demands efficiently.

Moreover, Twellium’s Kumasi site now boasts Africa’s fastest complete PET water line. With a remarkable production capacity of 80,000 bottles per hour, this facility employs Sidel’s signature Combi solution, integrating blow molding, filling, and capping into one compact and efficient system.

The setup also features a state-of-the-art water treatment room and an automated cleaning-in-place (CIP) system, ensuring maximum hygiene and food safety standards are upheld.

In addition, Sidel has established a complete line for carbonated soft drinks (CSD) at the Kumasi plant. This line can bottle at impressive speeds of 65,000 bottles per hour, an optimal choice for Twellium to satisfy the rapidly growing CSD market in the region.

As part of the installation, Sidel has also implemented a tailored EvoDECO Roll-Fed labeller with an integrated system that applies QR codes on the bottle caps. This innovative feature enhances traceability and adheres to Ghanaian regulations.

Leader in Ghana’s Thriving Beverage Industry

“Sidel’s complete PET packaging lines for Twellium ensure that beverage production volume meets affordability, allowing us to keep up with the constant increase in demand. This partnership not only drives efficiency but also creates more regional job opportunities, reinforcing Twellium as a proud leader in Ghana’s thriving beverage industry,” comments Ali Ajami, Twellium marketing director.
