In a partnership between TIPA, a global leader in compostable food and drink packaging solutions, and Wyld, a leader in the North American edibles market, the goal is to combat pollution from single-use flexible plastics that are difficult to recycle.

This collaboration comes as the legal edibles industry is expected to grow significantly, reaching an estimated value of $37.1 billion by 2032. With this growth, there is an increased demand for sustainable packaging that meets safety and compliance standards, as well as brand standards of companies like Wyld.

Wyld will utilize TIPA’s 608 home compostable laminate to produce wrapping for their edibles as well as pouches and outer parcel bags. TIPA’s laminate offers a high oxygen and moisture barrier for extended shelf-life and meets the stringent state-dependent regulations on legal edibles packaging.

Furthermore, this move represents TIPA’s entry into a new market segment and aligns with Wyld’s commitment to transition all of its petroleum-based plastic packaging to compostables.

Rodrigo Castaneda, TIPA’s VP/GM North America, expresses excitement about the collaboration, emphasizing the companies’ commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainability. Kale Gray, Sr. Brand Manager at Wyld, shares similar sentiments, highlighting the proactive approach to reducing plastic waste and contributing to a greener future.
