TIPA and Fresh-Lock closures have joined forces to drive the advancement of home compostable packaging solutions in the food packaging industry. This collaboration has resulted in the launch of a new range of home compostable closures for pouches by the Fresh-Lock team. These innovative reclosable solutions are crafted using TIPA’s exclusive home compostable resin formulation, catering to various end-use markets including food.

This partnership signifies a significant milestone for consumers and businesses searching for sustainable packaging alternatives to combat plastic pollution. The introduction of this new home compostable technology provides all the advantages of flexible packaging while facilitating the closing of the loop in circularity.

In line with this collaboration, Fresh-Lock has introduced two new home compostable closures – Style 8531, featuring Child-Resistant technology, and Style 8035, a versatile single lock design suitable for a wide range of applications. By incorporating TIPA’s solutions into this product line, the Fresh-Lock brand aims to expand its presence in the market for compostable flexible packaging.

As the demand for environmentally friendly packaging solutions continues to rise, TIPA offers fully compostable alternatives to traditional plastic packaging. These substitutes retain the same functionalities, such as transparency and durability, while aiding in reducing the global dependence on conventional plastics. When disposed of in a compost bin with other organic materials, TIPA’s packaging disintegrates and biodegrades into nutrient-rich soil within months. Moreover, TIPA’s packaging is compatible with existing machinery across the entire packaging production supply chain.

Rodrigo Castaneda, VP/GM, North America at TIPA, expressed his enthusiasm for partnering with the Fresh-Lock team, a leading force in the market. He stated, “This collaboration is a significant step towards empowering consumers and businesses to minimize their reliance on traditional flexible plastics and navigate rapidly evolving policies on packaging waste management for the betterment of the planet.”

Lisa Petersmark, VP Presto Specialty at Fresh-Lock closures, highlighted the synergies between TIPA’s compostable materials expertise and Fresh-Locks’s reputation as an innovator in sustainable reclosable solutions. She noted, “This partnership creates a unique opportunity to expand the compostable packaging market.”

In conclusion, the collaboration between TIPA and Fresh-Lock closures represents a crucial step in the industry’s journey towards eco-friendly packaging solutions. By leveraging their respective strengths and expertise, these two companies are driving positive change and contributing to a sustainable future.
