Item Products, the largest designer and producer of recycled plastic components for the food packaging and point-of-sale industry in Europe, has supplied Britvic Soft Drinks with an innovative carry handle solution for the Robinsons 1.75L twin bottle pack. The pack has been assigned to Costco, a major wholesaler in the UK. Made entirely from 100% recycled material, the handle is specifically designed to carry the twin bottle pack securely by the collar. The consumer can easily dispose of the handle in the domestic waste recycling system.
Adam Horvath, packaging development manager at Britvic, praised Item Products for working closely with the procurement and packaging development teams at Britvic to deliver the project on schedule and to the required specifications. “The end result ticked all Britvic’s ‘must have’ needs and was delivered on schedule and to specification first time,” Horvath said.
“We are delighted to provide a solution for Britvic,” said Julian Cook, managing director at Item Products. “Being able to facilitate their requirement for a UK manufactured carry handle solution has helped significantly cut their lead times and reduce transport costs. The added benefit of producing the handle in a universal black colour enables Britvic to remove the need for specific masterbatch, allowing the device to be used across multiple brands.”
Item Products’ designs unique components for the packaging industry, including carry handles for cartons, connecting clips for corrugated board, hooks, studs, and rivets for merchandising units, wheels and stabilizers for big or heavy packs, garment rails for wardrobe boxes, and stackable trays.
In conclusion, this eco-friendly solution provided by Item Products is a testament to their commitment to the food packaging industry’s sustainable practices. Working closely with Britvic, they have successfully delivered a packaging solution that is both efficient and environmentally friendly, while significantly reducing the lead times and transport costs of the project.
