Terphane, the leading PET film manufacturer in Latin America with operations in the USA and Brazil, is focused on providing natural, healthy, fresh, and convenient packaging solutions for the fruits and vegetables market. At IFPA 2023 – The Global Produce & Floral Show in Anaheim, CA, USA, Terphane will showcase its innovative products, including Sealphane®, Resealphane, and Ecophane®. These solutions are designed to meet the specific needs of the industry, while also improving shelf life, reducing waste, and enhancing the consumer experience.
Raymond Joyner, North America Sales Manager at Terphane, emphasizes the expertise of the company in developing sealable, resealable, and sustainable films that offer numerous benefits. “Our films not only extend the shelf life of fruits and vegetables but also ensure product integrity during transportation and storage. The packaging is user-friendly, sustainable, and can be easily recycled. It’s a win-win for both consumers and the environment,” says Joyner.
Terphane’s sealable polyester films from the Sealphane® family are the first line of solutions developed to address the industry’s requirements. These films not only protect the freshness of the products but also optimize logistics by reducing space requirements. This makes them ideal for self-service and online sales.
One of the latest innovations within the Sealphane® product line is Resealphane, a high-performance resealable film that can be seamlessly integrated into existing packaging lines without additional investments. This film ensures tamper-evident packaging that can be opened and reclosed multiple times. It provides convenience, freshness, and sustainability all in one package.
“With our Resealphane technology, packaging converters and brand owners have the opportunity to upgrade from conventional lidding structures to a high-performance resealable solution, without incurring extra costs. This innovation opens up new possibilities for fresh fruits and vegetables that can benefit from resealable packaging,” adds Raymond Joyner.
In line with its commitment to sustainability, Terphane will also unveil Ecophane® at IFPA 2023. The Ecophane® line offers two versions: PCR polyester (post-consumer recycled content) and biodegradable (BIO). The PCR film contains up to 35% recyclable content, while the BIO film degrades in landfill conditions. Both options are FDA-approved for food contact.
