From achieving Silver status in 2023 to earning Platinum this year, SÜDPACK has secured its position in the top 1% of all companies evaluated by EcoVadis for sustainability. Since its inception in 2007, this esteemed rating platform has assessed over 150,000 companies across 250 industries in 185 countries, focusing on their sustainability practices. Only the top 35% receive recognition through medals that range from Bronze to Platinum. The EcoVadis assessment methodology relies on internationally recognized standards, including the Global Reporting Initiative, the UN Global Compact, and ISO 26000.

In its 2025 evaluation, SÜDPACK enhanced its performance by approximately 30% compared to 2023, achieving an impressive score of over 90 out of 100 in the “Environment” category. This remarkable score underscores the company’s robust environmental policies and comprehensive external certifications. Furthermore, EcoVadis recognized SÜDPACK for its outstanding execution of sustainability initiatives stemming from these policies. The company also excelled in the “Labor and Human Rights” category, securing a rating exceeding 80%. This robust performance can be attributed to numerous initiatives launched and implemented by SÜDPACK, backed by certifications such as ISO 45001 and SA8000. These initiatives encompass health protection, occupational safety, anti-discrimination policies, and the prevention of child labor. Notably, SÜDPACK improved its “Sustainable Procurement” score by 50% since 2023, further solidifying its commitment to responsible sourcing in the food and drink packaging sector.

Achieving Platinum status confirms that sustainability and corporate responsibility are integral to SÜDPACK’s operations across its entire value chain. This accolade reflects the company’s definitive sustainability goals, detailed in its ambitious “Sustainability Leadership” strategy, which are consistently pursued. “EcoVadis enables us to set industry standards for environmental and social responsibility, position ourselves as a high-performance business partner, and create long-term value for all stakeholders,” emphasizes SÜDPACK’s Managing Director, Erik Bouts.
