Gymkhana Fine Foods needed two food packaging solutions – a four-pack and a larger eight-pack. Smurfit Kappa, a trusted partner, recognized the need to reinforce the corrugated packaging due to damage from courier mishandling. Gymkhana aimed to enhance protection for their delicate glass jars during transit, leading to a project focused on ramping up safeguarding.
To meet Gymkhana’s requirements, the packaging needed to showcase a premium look that aligns with the brand’s image of luxury and quality. The design featured double-sided, two-colour flexo-print and identical fittings to accommodate different jar quantities, offering versatility. While the creation of the four-pack was simple, the packaging gurus at Smurfit Kappa devised a clever solution to stack products in the eight-pack using the same fitting.
The flexibility in the design allowed the boxes to house both 200ml and 300ml jars, catering to various customer orders seamlessly. This adaptability makes the packaging extremely versatile and capable of accommodating a wide range of requests. The visually appealing double-sided, two-colour printed packaging reflects the brand’s essence in every detail, creating a lasting impression on customers.
David Furze, operations manager at Gymkhana, praised Smurfit Kappa for understanding and executing the packaging design to meet their high standards. Sam Ball, internal sales coordinator at Saxon Packaging, highlighted the reduced risk of product damage with the revamped packaging structure, ensuring a premium unboxing experience for consumers. Gymkhana Fine Foods was pleased with the structural performance of the new design, fulfilling their goals of seamlessly packaging both sizes of fragile glass jars.
By collaborating with Smurfit Kappa and Saxon Packaging, Gymkhana Fine Foods successfully enhanced the protection and presentation of their food packaging solutions, meeting their quality standards and customer expectations.
