SIG and Mupy Announce Strategic Co-packing Partnership copacking collaboration, Mupy, SIG, strategic partnership Food and Beverage Business

SIG has recently entered into a partnership with Mupy, a prominent brand in the soy drinks with fruit juice industry, to provide carton packs and filling services through a copacker.

“The provider of packaging said SIG is Mupy’s partner of choice to achieve ambitious growth target Mupy, a reference brand for soy drinks with fruit juice.”

Mupy has projected significant growth in the coming years and has identified packaging solutions from SIG as a crucial element in achieving its goal of doubling turnover by 2025.

Under the new management of Alexandre Moreno, Mupy reported revenues of 115 million reais and produced 11.7 million liters of soy drinks with fruit juice in 2023. To support future growth in the soy and juice beverages market, Mupy has turned to SIG’s high-speed and flexible filling machines, which boast an impressive efficiency rate and a minimal waste rate of just 0.5%.

“Mupy relies on the high speed and flexible filling machines from SIG. The efficiency rate in the production process is very high, with a waste rate of just 0.5%. In addition, SIG’s filling machines provide maximum flexibility and make it possible to fill products of different categories and viscosities in different volume sizes on one and the same filling machine.”

Mupy offers its soy and juice drinks in a range of flavors and in two carton formats provided by SIG. This diverse product offering enables Mupy to cater to health-conscious consumers while tapping into the growing demand for plant-based alternatives, thus enhancing its market competitiveness.

According to The Good Food Institute Brazil (GFI), the South American market for plant-based products has been on the rise, with the plant-based drinks market posting a 15% growth in 2022 and projected annual expansion of nearly 12% by 2027. This burgeoning market presents considerable opportunities for Mupy and other companies in the sector.

“Soy is a rich source of plant-based protein, making the beverage an excellent option for individuals looking to increase protein intake. Additionally, soy contains essential amino acids, fiber, and various vitamins and minerals, contributing for instance to immune health.”

Renata Kasahara, head of marketing America South at SIG, emphasizes the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability, highlighting that 75% of the carton packaging’s composition is renewable paperboard, and all of the aluminum used is certified against sustainability standards. This aligns with the evolving preferences of consumers for sustainable and responsibly sourced products.

With plans to double its turnover by 2025, Mupy’s CEO, Alexandre Moreno, sees the partnership with SIG as fundamental to achieving this ambitious goal.

“In 2023 we grew by more than 22% compared to 2022 and our plan is to double our turnover by 2025. For this, the partnership between Mupy and SIG is fundamental.”
