From December 3rd to 5th, SACMI will return to Drink Japan at Makuhari Messe, Tokyo. Alongside our increasingly advanced technology that emphasizes high productivity, we will showcase new digital controls. Additionally, the Rigid Packaging Lab will present its extensive range of product development and consulting services in food and beverage packaging.
At the upcoming Drink Japan fair, SACMI will unveil an integrated digital production line for caps and preforms. This innovative line, featuring the recently launched CCM64MD cap presses and IPS400D preform presses, delivers cutting-edge productivity and efficiency. By taking digital control to new heights, we integrate hardware-software solutions across all machines, offer new cloud-based support services, and employ AI vision systems to execute smart, predictive process and maintenance management.
Digitalized Line Controls and Advanced Diagnostics
The significant benefits derived from process digitalization will be a focal point of the SACMI exhibit at Drink Japan. First and foremost, we will introduce SMARTPACK™, an advanced machine-integrated hardware-software kit that maximizes flexibility and precision during real-time production adjustments. This system monitors critical process parameters, including correct pellet insertion, hydraulic oil condition, mold cooling mixture, and proper operation of hydraulic and temperature control systems. All data is readily accessible in the Control Room for real-time monitoring. Furthermore, SMARTPACK™ predicts production drifts, streamlines operations to minimize waste and errors, and ensures long-term efficiency for both machines and molds.
Alongside SMARTPACK™, SACMI provides SMARTCARE™, a process parameter monitoring solution. By utilizing cloud-based sharing of machine operating data, SMARTCARE™ delivers predictive insights on performance, diagnostics, and maintenance assistance.
Integrated Cap-Preform Design and New Recycling Opportunities
In addition to the seamless synergy between cap and preform technology, SACMI customers can leverage the extensive product development and design services offered by the Rigid Packaging Lab. With cross-disciplinary expertise and sophisticated equipment, the Lab crafts comprehensive, optimized solutions tailored to meet every packaging requirement. For instance, we present the industry’s widest array of 26/22 mm neck-caps, available in both tethered and non-tethered versions. This not only enhances environmental performance—lowering the overall weight of the cap-preform system and reducing virgin plastic consumption—but also improves practicality and consumer experience.
Moreover, our consulting services extend to new recycling opportunities. The recently launched SACMI PURECAP™ project aims to establish a complete supply chain for manufacturing caps from recycled HDPE. Through SACMI PURECAP™, the Lab offers product development, design services, and a comprehensive production recipe that guarantees aesthetic and functional outcomes aligned with the requirements of leading brand owners in the food and beverage packaging sector.
Vision Systems and AI
Furthermore, at Drink Japan, SACMI will showcase its hallmark artificial vision systems, which have consistently enhanced the value of our solutions. These systems have evolved to harness the full potential of automation by integrating traditional quality control with AI. One of our latest innovations, the PVS Robot, executes automatic off-line preform quality control. Additionally, all systems can integrate with the Classy AI software interface, enabling automatic defect classification. This feature not only simplifies training for personnel but also facilitates real-time access to process data and logged information.
Exceptional Service
Maintaining alignment with market demands and providing profitable, ready-to-use solutions is a hallmark of SACMI. We offer advanced software and control systems that simplify machine management and maximize production outcomes. Moreover, SACMI is committed to delivering exceptional service before, during, and after the sale, bolstered by 24/7 operational support through our global network.
