Pruszków plant expansion sees Smurfit Kappa invest €40m to completion Food and Beverage Business

Smurfit Kappa, a leading paper-based packaging solutions company, is investing €40 million to expand its Pruszków corrugated plant in Poland. The investment includes new, state-of-the-art technology which will make the plant the largest and most advanced in Poland, and one of the most modern in Europe. This expansion demonstrates Smurfit Kappa’s commitment to being the supplier of choice to its customers seeking innovative and sustainable food packaging solutions.

The investment includes a new high-tech corrugator and a range of modern converting machinery, as well as a new warehouse that can accommodate more than 12,000 pallets. According to the company, this investment is expected to double the facility’s output, which currently spans 37,500 square metres.

Jacek Nieweglowski, CEO of Smurfit Kappa North-East Europe, said of the project, “We are delighted to officially unveil the new manufacturing plant here in Pruszków. This project took just over one year to complete and will enable us to continue to pursue our strategic goal of being the supplier of choice to our customers, particularly those looking for the most innovative and sustainable packaging solutions.”

The expansion will also create 50 jobs, supporting the company in supplying its customer portfolio that includes brands in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) food and beverage sectors.

The investment demonstrates Smurfit Kappa’s strategic commitment to Poland and Eastern Europe, and the expansion is expected to create 50 new jobs and double the facility’s output.
