Frank Dale, a food brand owned by Finedale Foods, has announced changes to their packaging to become a more sustainable and environmentally responsible choice for professional chefs and caterers. The revised packaging will eliminate 10 tonnes of black plastic waste annually from landfills.
All plastics used in the Frank Dale range are now made from recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET), containing 70% recycled plastics. Additionally, Charpac supplies a minimum of 30% Post Consumer Recycle (PCR) to the rPET. CSB Packaging now provides 100% recycled and 100% recyclable corrugated board, made from turned reels of recycled paper.
Edward Miles, managing director of Finedale Foods site, stated that removing black plastic was “a non-negotiable and necessary change,” and recognizes it as a significant step for Frank Dale to become a more sustainable brand. The revised packaging will be implemented across their entire range.
