As the snacks market in Italy continues to grow, cost-conscious consumers are turning to budget-friendly private-label products. Preziosi Food, a leading Italian manufacturer of potato chips and snacks, needed a solutions partner to increase production capacity in a short 12-month timeframe. TNA solutions delivered by implementing a fully integrated potato chip line, a state-of-the-art pellet frying system, and a distribution, seasoning, and packaging system. This increased Preziosi’s production capacity from 17 to 30 million kilos per year.

TNA, as a global single-source solutions provider, offered equipment for the entire potato snack production line. This aligned well with Preziosi’s goal of boosting production capacity. TNA’s high-performance potato chip line includes washing, cutting, frying, distribution, seasoning, and high-speed packaging, allowing Preziosi to operate at speeds up to 1,500kg/hour. The installation of a pellet frying system doubled line capacity to 600kg/hour.

“With help from TNA, we overcame challenges and achieved steady growth of over 20%,” said Lorenzo Caporaletti, President and CEO of Preziosi Food. “We wanted cutting-edge technology and continuous production during a strict 12-month period. It required creative thinking from both sides.”

With over 300 SKUs of snacks, Preziosi aimed to maintain high-quality, safe products. TNA’s holistic approach and deep process knowledge increased snack production capacity by 76%. The continuous frying system with opti-flow® technology ensured consistency and reduced rejects. Lowering the oil temperature minimized acrylamide formation and improved product quality.

“Our application engineer, Arnaud Jansse, fine-tuned the frying process with Preziosi,” added Geling. “The tna roflo® conveyor systems reduced breakages and increased distribution speeds.”

The deployment of multiple TNA on-machine seasoning systems and tna robag® packaging systems ensured Preziosi could meet demand and deliver high-quality products to customers.
