Coveris, a prominent global packaging manufacturer, will showcase its extensive product lineup for the bakery and confectionery sectors at the ExpoSweet trade show in Warsaw, Poland, from February 22nd to 25th, 2026. The company’s presentation will focus on sustainability, circular materials, and minimizing waste in products, packaging, and operations, aligning with Coveris’ No Waste strategy.
With a commitment to innovation, Coveris will broaden its offerings for the bakery and confectionery industries at ExpoSweet. Attendees can explore a diverse range of products, including wicketted bags, gusseted and flat-bottom bags, block-bottom bags, stand-up pouches, barrier sandwich skillets, trays, wrapping paper, and various food-on-the-go packaging solutions. Designed with sustainability in mind, these products emphasize recyclability, superior product protection, enhanced branding potential, and extended shelf life.
“Central and Eastern Europe remain vital markets for Coveris, and we are eager to participate in ExpoSweet again. This event serves as an excellent platform to introduce our innovative, sustainable solutions tailored for the dynamic bakery and confectionery sectors in the region,” stated Emilio Vidri, Sales Director Consumer and Healthcare at Coveris.
Advancing the Circular Economy in the Food Sector
One of the highlights of Coveris’ exhibit will be the new recyclable HEAT packs. This innovative fiber-composite, dual-ovenable board solution enables hot-to-go foods to be cooked, displayed, and consumed directly from one pack. By facilitating a streamlined cooking process without the need for additional wrapping, this design offers remarkable heat retention, protection, and reduced plastic content, all while enhancing convenience and shelf appeal.
Additionally, Coveris will feature the BarrierFresh MAP, which comes in two formats. This product reduces plastic usage by 90% while ensuring recyclability and optimal product shelf life. By combining sustainably sourced board with a specially designed EVOH barrier film, the BarrierFresh MAP tray creates a fully printable, hermetically sealed single-SKU pack that supports premium branding and superior product integrity. The BarrierFresh MAP skillets are specifically engineered for MAP gas-flush packing, contributing to product quality and freshness while aiming to reduce food waste. Utilizing proprietary Freshlife® technology and an EVOH barrier-lined structure, they ensure strong product protection, excellent visibility, and striking shelf presentation.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to discover MonoFlexFibre Pure Max, a monomaterial paper-based substrate designed for cereal, protein, and chocolate bars. Despite being constructed from a single paper layer, it boasts robust barrier properties, exceptional printability, and full recyclability within existing paper systems.
Completing the extensive portfolio, Coveris will also highlight a wide array of recyclable and lightweight solutions for bakery and confectionery products aimed at extending shelf life and preserving freshness. This offering includes pre-made options such as stand-up pouches, flat-bottom bags, PP or CPP-based wicketted bags, PE-coated or kraft paper-based gusseted bags, block-bottom bags, and HDPE-coated wrapping paper.
