Volpak and Incremar have extended their partnership to enhance their food packaging capabilities. Volpak, a leading packaging company, has provided Incremar with a state-of-the-art SL 170 machine, which operates from a single reel of flexible packaging material, effectively forming pouches, filling them with products, and sealing them securely.
Incremar, a South American company, markets a wide range of food products, including baby food, soups, banana and soybean meal, oat flakes, maize, and soy-based beverage preparations. With a strong focus on quality and sustainability throughout its supply chain, Incremar sought to utilize high-end technology to improve its production lines.
The pouch has become Incremar’s preferred form of packaging due to its flexibility, ease of handling, and durability for both solid and liquid food products. The post-Covid era has seen a resurgence in home consumption of easy-to-prepare foods with high nutritional value, such as soups, rice, and cereals, as people spent extended periods cooking at home during lockdowns.
As demand increased, Incremar recognized the need to enhance production capacity, reduce manufacturing times, and streamline operations. Given the varying weights and volumes of foods like noodles, rice, cereals, and maize, Incremar required a packaging solution that could ensure sturdy and practical packaging, while maintaining an appealing aesthetic. The packaging machine also needed to be versatile enough to handle products of different weights and characteristics, offering secure packaging with easy opening and access to contents.
The equipment provided by Volpak is specifically designed for the packaging of soup sachets but can be configured to handle various product types. It features an auger filler for packaging powdered products like banana flour and a volumetric filler for packaging solids such as cereals and maize.
Highlighting its flexibility, the SL 170 machine can accommodate different types of packaging films, including 100% recyclable options. It is equipped with the latest version of “Optimate,” Coesia’s smart and intuitive HMI, ensuring low operating and maintenance costs.
Incremar reported that the machine has operated efficiently and productively since its installation, meeting all expectations and avoiding any issues.
The company noted that the introduction of the Volpak machine has contributed to cost containment and reducing downtime, resulting in increased overall efficiency. Incremar plans to install additional units in its facilities in Ecuador in the future, maintaining their commitment to providing comprehensive customer support and flexible solutions.
