Pernod Ricard has recently introduced a new flavour variety under its coconut rum brand, Malibu. The brand claims that the UK’s number one cocktail flavour preference in the on-trade channel is strawberry, so the company has created Malibu Strawberry, a 21% ABV liqueur. The new spirit is made with the brand’s classic white rum and a new “refreshing” strawberry twist.
In addition to this, Malibu has also launched a sparkling addition to its RTD cocktail range, Malibu Strawberry Daiquiri. The new cocktail cans contain a blend of white rum, strawberry and lime, providing a convenient on-the-go option with the latest flavour.
“We’re so excited to add this sweet and refreshing flavour innovation to our existing range,” said Liam Murphy, brand director at Pernod Ricard UK. “Flavours have helped us recruit new shoppers into the brand as consumers continue to experiment with new flavour profiles…The launch of Malibu Strawberry will allow us to continue the flavour momentum.”
Earlier this year, Pernod Ricard launched a new Malibu peach flavour, and now consumers can add Malibu Strawberry to their summer cocktail arsenal. The latest addition is available now in select UK retailers for an RRP of £17.19 per bottle. The RTD daiquiri cans are also available now in select retailers for an RRP of £2.40 per can. The company plans to roll out the product in more places later this month.
It is notable that Pernod Ricard’s Malibu package has been appreciated in the market due to its impressive design and quality. Food packaging plays a significant role in industries where attributes like shelf-life, convenient transportation and safety of the product are highly valued. The right food packaging ensures that the product inside remains intact and fresh until it reaches the customer. In the food and beverage industry, packaging remains a highly important aspect of the sector!
