Adelholzener Alpenquellen prioritizes hygiene in its production of spritzers and water by utilizing Krones’ aseptic technology.

Implementing this advanced technology ensures that seven out of eight production lines at Adelholzener Alpenquellen adhere to the highest standards of cleanliness. A returnable glass container line was introduced in 2020, and a new line for filling non-returnable containers is set to be added in 2025.

The decision to invest in this particular container and line type was influenced by several factors. The rising demand for on-the-go products, a notable sales increase of twelve percent for non-returnable PET containers in 2023, and the ability to maximize existing capacities at the plant through a one-way PET system were key considerations.

Erwin Hächl, head of central project management at Adelholzener Alpenquellen, emphasizes the importance of forward-thinking planning in leveraging plant capacities efficiently. The new Krones line, with a capacity of 36,000 bottles per hour, aims to boost bottling capacities for spritzers and water. Opting for the Contipure Bloc P ensures ultra-hygienic production processes for sensitive products.

The performance version of the Contipure Bloc P utilizes cutting-edge technology, including hot caustic solution for machine surface disinfection and steam sterilization for product paths. This guarantees microbiologically safe filling with rapid cleaning and sterilization cycles.

Additional technological equipment from Krones includes a Unipure product filtration system and a VarioAsept J flash pasteuriser to further enhance the production process. The first batch of products from the new line is expected to be ready by summer 2025, with acceptance scheduled for autumn of the same year.

With a focus on innovation and quality, Adelholzener Alpenquellen continues to set industry standards in food packaging.
