Kingsland Drinks is set to enhance its offerings by producing Vinca red, white, and rosé wines in 75cl aluminum bottles. This initiative will complement the brand’s current lineup of organic Sicilian wines, which are already available in cans at Kingsland Drinks’ Irlam facility.

This strategic investment underscores Kingsland Drinks’ commitment to expanding its alternative packaging formats, responding to the rising demand for sustainable, lightweight, and recyclable food and drink packaging solutions within the wine sector.

Aluminum bottles present a compelling alternative to traditional glass. Composed entirely of 100% post-consumer recycled aluminum, they are infinitely recyclable, making them one of the most recycled materials in the UK. This high recycling rate contributes significantly to reducing Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) fees and helps improve compliance performance.

Weighing approximately 70g compared to an average of 450g for glass bottles, the lightweight aluminum option reduces transport emissions and enhances logistics efficiency. In fact, it can achieve up to four times lower CO₂ emissions than an equivalent glass bottle, all while preserving the familiar 75cl bottle size that consumers and retailers appreciate.

Additionally, aluminum bottles are increasingly favored at festivals and events due to their lightweight, shatterproof nature and enhanced safety for handling. Their superior thermal conductivity aids in rapid chilling of beverages, making them an attractive choice for outdoor occasions.

This latest development builds on Kingsland Drinks’ successful foray into canned wine production. It showcases the company’s ongoing dedication to investing in future-oriented capabilities that foster brand growth and innovation.

Paul Braydon, Director of Business Development and Marketing at Kingsland Drinks, remarked: “Alternative formats are no longer niche – they’re becoming an essential part of how the wine category evolves. Our investment in aluminum bottle capability is about giving brands like Vinca the freedom to innovate while maintaining quality, scalability, and sustainability at the core.”

He further stated, “We already produce Vinca’s full canned range and extending that partnership into 75cl aluminum bottles is a natural next step. It reinforces our role as a long-term, full-service partner that invests in infrastructure and technical advancement ahead of demand to support our customers’ ambitions.”

Jack Green, cofounder of Vinca, added: “Aluminum bottles are already an important part of our range, delivering the sustainability benefits we care about while retaining the familiarity of a 75cl bottle for consumers. Bringing production to Kingsland Drinks gives us greater confidence around quality, scale, and long-term partnership, while allowing us to localize production closer to market.”

The introduction of aluminum bottles further cements Kingsland Drinks’ status as a leader in wine production. This initiative reflects the company’s ongoing investment in technology, infrastructure, and expertise to meet the evolving needs of consumers and retailers in the food and drink packaging landscape.

Vinca’s aluminum bottles are currently available at Tesco, M&S, and various online retailers, with expansion plans set for 2026.
