Ishida’s groundbreaking AI-powered remote production monitoring software, Sentinel 5.0, has earned the Innovative Processing System award at the 2025 PPMA Total Show Awards, which celebrate excellence in the processing and packaging machinery sector.
Since its launch in November 2024, Sentinel 5.0 seamlessly integrates machine performance monitoring with extensive data capture. This provides food manufacturers with a refined and comprehensive analysis of their entire food and drink packaging production line, significantly improving operational efficiency.
A standout feature of this platform is its advanced machine learning capabilities. This technology, developed by the global leaders in weighing, packing, and quality control solutions, can interconnect with both Ishida and non-Ishida machines. By doing so, it learns how the food production line operates and generates data-driven performance enhancement recommendations. For instance, it can alert operators to machines not performing at optimal capacity and explain the underlying reasons.

With access to machine manuals and a growing machine learning database, operators can remotely diagnose issues on their lines, eliminating the need to consult Ishida engineers.
